Nicholas W. Cutler graduated from Colgate University in 1991 with a dual Bachelor of Arts in Geography and in Japanese Language and Literature. He attended the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, graduated in 1995, and was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1996. He has practiced law for over twenty-two years.
He began his law practice at American Stores Properties, which later merged into Albertson’s, Inc. While with Albertson’s and while working as outside counsel for Albertson’s, he primarily focused on real estate law, in the areas of retail leasing, shopping center development, and acquisitions and dispositions. In that capacity, he successfully closed on the disposition of approximately $60 million in rea estate transactions. Mr. Cutler then worked as a solo practitioner for several years, expanding his practice areas in to carious other areas, including family law, particularly, premarital agreements, divorce and custody matters. He has also conducted electronic discovery on a multitude of review projects. At Ballard Spahr, Mr. Cutler focused on industrial warehouse leases and resort development. He has also focused on working with debtors and creditors to resolve various debt settlement matters.
Mr. Cutler strives to maintain regular client interaction and focuses on keeping the client informed at all times throughout the case. He will look for the opportunity to settle or find alternate solutions to litigation. He joined the firm in January of 2019.
