Steve has over twenty years of experience as a trial and appellate attorney in many complex cases. As an attorney, Steve quickly identifies legal issues and focuses his presentation on the strengths of his clients cases. He has handled 17 jury trials through verdict in Utah and California on a variety of issues. He has also handled over 50 trials and other evidentiary hearings before judges. He has settled hundreds of cases before, during, and after trial. Steve take pride in relating to his clients and conveying their cases convincingly to juries and judges.
Steve considers his clients ideas, concerns and goals in recommending a course of action for each case. His clients see him as a person they can trust to accurately identify and pursue their legal rights and to give them a candid assessment of their cases. He has successfully recognized and argued in trial courts and on appeal issues that are new in Utah law in personal injury, employment, grandparent visitation, and divorce cases.
Steve has represented large and small businesses as well as individuals. Outside of the practice of law, Steve has spent time as a volunteer with local schools and with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys playing tennis with his wife, practicing instrumental music with his children, and listening to classical music and recorded books.
